1396326 Vacuum cleaner GOBLIN (BVC) Ltd 7 May 1973 [11 May 1972] 28228/74 Divided out of 1396325 Heading BIT A vacuum cleaner has an upstream filtration unit comprising a fabric filter bag enclosing a paper filter bag and a downstream filter removing residual dust from the air exhausted from the cleaner which comprises at least one cylindrical housing 18, secured over an outlet, from the cleaner canister and having perforations in its circumferential wall 19 and a replaceable cylindrical filter 20 comprising a pleated filter element 21, which air enters axially and passes out radially. Guard elements 22 (Fig. 1 not shown) are provided to prevent damage to housings. Applications include hazardous dusts (e.g. asbestos or in hospitals).
