Abstract
1396157 Using semi permeable membranes to separate water from electrolyte SIEMENS AG 8 June 1972 [8 June 1971] 26895/72 Addition to 1208671 Heading B1B In a process where water is separated from electrolyte leaving fuel cell 63 via 71 by using a semi permeable membrane as disclosed in Specification 1208671, a jet pump 62 is used to cause gaseous reactant to flow through the fuel cell and then as an auxiliary gas through condensation chamber 64 to carry condensate to pressure lock 65 where gas and liquid are separated by membrane 80 and gas is returned via line 69 to the suction intake of pump 62. Pressure lock 65 may comprise a liquid permeable asbestos membrane through which liquid but not gas can pass.
