Abstract

1396005 Producing gas discharge display devices FUJITSU Ltd 4 July 1972 [15 July 1971] 31220/72 Heading C1M [Also in Division H1] The electrodes of a gas discharge display device are produced by forming grooves in a glass substrate, e.g. by photo-etching, inlaying a metal paste in the grooves and finally baking the metal paste. The paste may have as its main component gold, silver, platinum, palladium or rhodium. The grooves are formed by coating the substrate in a photosensitive resin, printing the required pattern of electrodes and then etching for about two minutes with an etchant composed of 46% HF, 12 NHCl and water in the weight ratio 100 : 3 : 20.
