Abstract

1395875 Carpet fluffing and suction device HUKUBA FUTURE RESEARCH KK 11 Feb 1974 [16 Feb 1973] 06055/74 Heading A4F Carpet fluffing and suction cleaning is effected by a device incorporating two series of hollow tines 2, 3 mounted on a hollow axle 1 in communication with a hollow handle 5. The axle 1 is mounted on wheels 4 which have a radius greater than that of tines 2, 3, the tines 2 being shorter than tines 3. In use the handle 5 is connected to a vacuum cleaner and a change over valve 9, which is operated by knob 10, closes the inlets of one series of tines, (tines 2 in the position shown). Each tine 3 has an aperture 8 at its tip and is useful for short tufts. Tines 2 are closed at their tips but are provided with apertures 6, 7, tines 2 being useful for longer tufts. The tines 2, 3 are elliptical in cross-section to facilitate fluffing up of down trodden tufts.
