Abstract

1395266 Hot gas engines UNITED STIRLING (SWEDEN) AB & CO KB 26 Oct 1973 49926/73 Heading F1S In a multi-cylinder double acting sterling cycle hot gas engine each piston rod 13 extends into a pump cylinder 15 provided with two non-return valve controlled gas conduits 16, 18 one of which conduits leads from the lower chamber of the respective engine cylinder to the pump cylinder 15 whereas the other gas conduit leads gas away from the pump cylinder and the conduit leading gas away from the pump cylinder contains means 20 for alternatively leading gas into a storage tank 23 or back to the lower chamber of the engine cylinder. A single storage tank 23 is arranged to receive gas from all the pump cylinders and a valve controlled conduit 24 leads from the storage tank to the lower chambers of the cylinders via non- return valve controlled conduits 26, 27, 28, 29.
