Abstract
1395242 Measuring pressure electrically INTERATOM INTERNATIONALE ATOMREAKTORBAU GmbH 6 Oct 1972 [8 Oct 1971 14 Oct 1971 15 Nov 1971] 46322/72 Heading GIN A vacuum gauge consists of a tubular member 3 sealed at one end 4 and having means 17 for connecting the interior of the member 3 with the interior of a vessel whose internal pressure is to be measured, an electrically resistive member 7 suspended in the member 3, and a housing 1 secured to the member 3 and containing electrical circuitry 2 for monitoring the resistance of member 7, the circuitry including a bridge circuit having the resistive member 7 connected in one arm thereof. As shown, the circuitry is mounted on a circuit board, Figs. 3, 4 and 5 (not shown), the bridge being a self-balancing bridge. A reference temperature dependent resistor, mounted in another arm of the bridge, may be provided in the form of a coil surrounding the member 3, Fig. 6 (not shown). As shown in Fig. 1, the member 7 is in the form of a coil tensioned by a wire 6, the member 7 and wire 6 being connected to the electrical circuitry via wire 10, 11 mounted in the seal 4. As shown in Fig. 7, the member 7 is in the form of a wire wound in tension around two members 18 of angle or star-shaped cross-section. One end of wire 7, which may be of nickel or ansterite, is connected to wire 6 while the other end is connected to wire 10.
