Abstract

1395222 Valves ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 2 Aug 1972 [20 Aug 1971] 36102/72 Heading F2V A fluid flow control valve which prevents starting jerks when a pump delivers pressure medium to an hydraulic cylinder 20, comprises an inlet 18 for the fluid discharged from the cylinder, a slidable valve sleeve 4 having ports 16 which in an upper position of the sleeve communicate with the inlet 18 to connect the latter to the inside of the sleeve, an outlet 23 communicating with the inside of the sleeve via ports 17, and a piston 6 controlling fluid flow through the ports 17. In operation the fluid discharging from cylinder 20 causes the piston 6 to move upwardly from the position shown in the Figure and the sleeve 4 to move upwardly but at a slower rate due to fluid in a chamber 15 being throttled through a passage 91. When the ports 16 uncover the inlet 18 discharge fluid flows through the inside of the sleeve and is throttled at the ports 17 by the piston 6. A constant discharge of pressure medium from the hydraulic cylinder is thus ensured.
