Abstract
1394889 Disazo dye copper complexes NIPPON KAYAKU KK 5 Sept 1972 [9 Sept 1971 21 Sept 1971] 41165/72 Heading C4P New metallized disazo dyes of formula wherein B is a benzene or naphthalene residue bound in o-positions to -N=N- and -O-, A is a diazo component residue which is naphthalene when B is benzene and benzene or naphthalene when B is naphthalene, R is a -CH 2 - CH 2 OSO 3 H or -CH = CH 2 group, m and n are 0 or 1 and m + n = 1 or 2 are prepared by coupling a diazonium compound of an amine (RO 2 S) m -A-NH 2 with an appropriate copper complex monoazo dye. The sulphatoethyl group may be converted to vinylsulphonyl by treatment with alkali. Alternatively starting materials containing SO 2 CH 2 CH 2 OH groups may be used and the products sulphated. The dyes are used to colour wool, synthetic polyamide, polyvinyl alcohol and, in particular, cellulose fibres in blue shades by the usual reactive dyeing processes.
