Abstract

1394888 Producing ampoules and the like G GARAUDY 14 Sept 1972 [15 Sept 1971] 42715/72 Heading C1M A turret machine for producing ampoules and the like from glass tubes C includes two circular rows of stations 18, 19 for receiving the tubes, each station being rotatable about its own axis, the stations 18, 19 being supported on respective support elements 20, 21 which in turn are joined andmutually supported by peripheral connection means such as columns 22, the entire assembly being mounted on a rotatable axial barrel 15 by radial connection means 26 disposed substantially in a single horizontal plane. Preferably the means 26 consists of spaced arms located substantially at the level of and connected to the lower support element 20. This lower support element 20 is a continuous annular member while the upper support element 21 is constituted by a circular row of individual elements joined to one another by the columns 22. The axial barrel 15 is rotated by a pinion 30 acting on internal toothing formed on the annular member 20. The stations 18, 19 are rotated by means of two large toothed wheels 34, 36 meshing with pinions 35, 37 on the respective stations 18, 19 the wheels 34, 36 being mounted on a rotatable shaft 12.
