Abstract

1393965 Antifertility vaccine and method ORTHO PHARMACEUTICAL CORP 24 April 1972 [5 May 1971] 18952/72 Heading A5B Infertility is induced in a male animal by injection into the testes of a vaccine comprising the purified X isozyme of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH-X) which enzyme is essential to and specific for the reproductive process of the testes. Thereby, antibodies specific to the enzyme are produced by the animal which are also specific to the testes and which suppress the reproductive process thereof. The vaccine may additionally comprise an adjuvant base, e.g. Freund's adjuvant.
