1393952 Measuring tension of thread TEXCONTROL 21 June 1972 [21 June 1971] 28986/72 Heading G1N [Also in Division G3] The tension in a sliver 3 of textile material (cotton) is detected by passing it through a "trumpet" 11 which pivots about an axis 12. The angle it assumes depends upon the tension and is measured by an unspecified electrical transducer 13. The signal is used to regulate the speed of a coiler (see Division G3).
