Abstract

1393860 Aerosol antiperspirant PROCTOR & GAMBLE CO 27 April 1973 [28 April 1972] 20190/73 Heading A5B [Also in Division C4] An aerosol antiperspirant powder comprises (a) 3-10 weight % of an astringent antiperspirant powder having a particle size of less than 100 microns, (b) 1.75-3.75% of a non-volatile, non-hygroscopic organic liquid emollient having a vapour pressure below 25 mm of Hg at 70‹F, a boiling point above 250‹F, a dielectric constant above 10, a specific gravity of 0.7-1.6 and a water-solubility below 5% at 70‹F, (c) 0.15-0.7% of finely divided hydrophobic clay or 0.1-0.35% of colloidal silica or a mixture thereof and (d) a hydrocarbon or halohydrocarbon propellant having a vapour pressure of 15-75 p.s.i. at 70‹F, the ratio of solids to emollient in the composition being 1.5:1 to 3:1 ingredients specified include (a) aluminium chlorhydrate, or a zirconyl hydrochloride/ aluminium hydrodiloride/glycine complex, (b) an alcohol/alkylene oxide adduct, isopropyl myristate, dibutyl phthalate, diisopropyl adipate, diethyl sebacate or ethyl ethylcarbomethyl phthalate, (d) carbon trichloride monofluorode, carbon dichloride difluoride, isobutane. Other ingredients specified include: trichlorocarbanilide, perfume, citric acid.
