The plate may be incorporated in a loose sock or insole as shown at J, Fig. 3, or may be secured to one end of the leather or like covering B of a foot-arch support by fastenings E, Fig. 1, arranged near its front edge so that the bearing line of the spring A is well in the rear of the fastenings.
