Abstract
1393125 Intruder alarms SALIENT ELECTRONICS Inc 5 June 1972 [6 July 1971] 26087/72 Heading G4N An intruder alarm system of the type where a relay is normally energized via a completed series circuit and is de-energized when this circuit is broken, comprises a circuit portion 25 containing the usual battery and relay coil holding open a contact adapted to activate an alarm, not shown, upon closure, the portion being connected via the conductors 41, 42 of a cable 48 with a closed circuit loop contained in a box-like enclosure 1, the loop consisting of two frangible conductors 16, 17 and associated connections and being connected via a plug 43, 44 to the cable 48 through one end of the enclosure 1, the conductor 16 being enclosed and mounted as a coil on the internal surfaces of the enclosure whereas the conductor 17 is placed on the outside surface of the enclosure and lightly adhered thereto. In use, the surface containing the conductor 17 is adhered to an article which is desired to be protected such that any attempt at removal of the enclosure or at breaking it will result in breakage of the conductor 17 or 16 respectively. In a first modification, Fig. 3 (not shown) the enclosure 1 is adapted to have plug connectors inserted at both ends to act as a junction box and in a second modification, Fig. 7 (not shown) the cable 48 is taken into and passed out of the enclosure at the end remote from the plug to provide a physical closed loop when the plug is inserted which loop may be passed around an article to be protected.
