Abstract

1349742 Burglar/fire alarms A J PLUMMER 26 Aug 1971 [29 May 1970 16 Nov 1970] 26089/70 and 54390/70 Heading G4N A burglar and fire alarm comprises a control circuit housed in a box 50 having plug-type connections to a bell alarm device B and a flasher lamp alarm device L2 and to a plurality of switch-like contacts 20 and thermal fuses or fire sensors 21, all the said components being arranged in closed circuit connected by lengths 23 of flexible aluminium strip. The strip 23 may have adhesive on one side and be mounted on the walls, &c. of the building and the contacts 20 may comprise a series of dimpled, conductive fingers (15), (17), Fig. 4 (not shown) outstanding from a common strip 18 sprung away from a fixed contact strip (19) mounted in normally closed condition in a door jamb, &c. The control circuit comprises a transistor switching circuit Fig. 2 (not shown) adapted to activate a relay switch to cause the alarms B, L2 to respond to a breaking of the circuit at any point 20, 21 after a delay period to allow an authorized person to de-activate the system by switch S1.
