Abstract

1,265,022. Intruder alarm. SHORROK DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. 27 Jan., 1970 [26 March, 1969], No. 15829/69. Heading G4N. A burglar alarm system comprises two circuit loops 12-13 and 14-15, each carrying a number of series-connected normally-closed contacts, the four wires of the two loops passing through the same cable 11. The two loops may also be connected by normally open contacts 37. Thus relay 9 is deactivated if either, any of the series-connected contacts are opened, breaking the current supply, or any of the contacts 37 are closed shorting the relay out. The relay will also be deactivated if the cable 11 is cut or the wires in the cable bared and the wrong wires shorted. The normally closed contacts may be associated with windows and doors &c. and the normally open contacts with floor mats. A system for deactivating the alarm for a short period after the alarm is switched on, and also for delaying the alarm signal on detection of an intruder is provided. This comprises capacitor (CA1) and (CA2) and Fig. 3 (not shown), which discharges through resistors (VR12) and (VR15) and is connected to transistor switch (TR1-TR2) and (TR3-TR4) which in turn trigger relays (F1) and (E1 Indicator lights R and G indicate whether the circuit is operating correctly.
