Abstract

1392721 Wire bending tool JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 7 Aug 1972 [24 June 1971] 29556/71 Heading B3E A hand tool for securing on a pin 24 a retaining wire 22 which passes through the pin comprises a bar 10 having an axial bore 12 in one end to receive the pin and a slot 15 across that end, through which the wire can pass, and a sleeve 18 rotatably mounted on the bar and having two parts 21 extending axially of the bore on opposite sides thereof and spaced from the surface of the bar, whereby when the tool is placed over the pin and wire, rotation of the sleeve bends the wire as at 22a, Fig. 5. The wire may be further bent by pliers. The sleeve is retained on the bar, and its rotation limited, by a pin 19 in the bar protruding into a slot in the sleeve.
