Abstract

1392600 Quaternary ammonium salts of acid phosphate esters EXXON RESEARCH & ENG CO 8 Nov 1972 [24 Nov 1971] 54577/71 Heading C2P [Also in Division C5] Tetra butyl ammonium salts of mixtures of (i) methyl dihydrogen phosphate and dimethyl hydrogen phosphate, (ii) ethyl dihydrogen phosphate and diethyl hydrogen phosphate and (iii) n-butyl dihydrogen phosphate and di-nbutyl hydrogen phosphate and hexyl trioctyl ammonium salts of the acid phosphate mixture (i) are prepared by treating the acid phosphates with the appropriate quaternary ammonium hydroxide to give pH = 7, evaporating to dryness, adding toluene and again evaporating to dryness. Tetra butyl ammonium salts of mixtures of C 6 , C 8 and C 12 n-alkyl and di(n-alkyl) hydrogen phosphates are also referred to.
