1391920 Measuring temperature in metal mixers VEREINIGTE OSTERREICHISCHE EISEN-UND STAHLWERKE AG 22 Sept 1972 [23 Sept 1971] 44039/72 Heading F4B A thermocouple or other temperature sensor 5 is mounted to project into the pouring spout 2 of a metal mixer, so that its junction 7 or other sensitive part is immersed in molten metal when the mixer is tipped for pouring, but is clear of the wall of the spout when the mixer is standing. The distance between the thermocouple junction 7 and the wall of the spout should be at least 1 cm. The thermocouple has a sheath 6.
