Abstract

1391707 Oscillatable container for use in electro-plating H STRECKE 25 April 1972 [7 May 1971] 19063/72 Heading C7B An open topped container (for receiving articles to be treated in an electro-plating bath) has perforated walls, is oscillatable in use about an axis, has at least one wall having one or more sawtooth projections and is asymmetrical with respect to all planes passing through the axis of oscillation. Fig.1 illustrates an asymmetrically shaped container 4 having openings (not shown) therein and a saw tooth projection 8 with a cathode 6 secured thereto. The container is oscillated about an axis 5 within a tank 1 containing anodes 2 and 3. Due to the oscillating movement, projection 8 causes articles (not shown) inside the container to be circulated and also causes the bath liquid to be circulated both inside and outside the container. Fig.7 (not shown) illustrates a container with nozzles in its walls. Fig.8 (not shown) illustrates a line of containers in adjacent baths and tilting of one container to transfer articles to an adjacent container. Articles may be transferred to a non- adjacent container in the line by placing a chute over the baths to be by-passed. Alternatively, articles can be transferred by lifting a container from bath to bath.
