1390901 Drier LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS-GmbH 5 July 1973 [5 July 1972 17 Nov 1972 17 Feb 1973] 32034/73 Heading F4G A drier for drying washing is provided with a condenser 3 in a stream of drying air, means being provided for passing the coridensate from the condenser 3 to a condensation collecting container 9. The container 9 has a switch device which is actuated by predetermined minimal and/or the maximal liquid volume state to control the operation of the drier. That is if an attempt to activate the drier is made when the liquid state is above the minimal it will not operate. Further when the maximal state is reached the drier is automatically stopped. As shown the drier is of the rotating drum type, air being heated by a electric element 1. Condensate is pumped to the container 9 from the condenser 3. The switch device comprises a contact for determining the minimal level and afloat for determining the maximal level. Alternatively the container may be mounted on a plate which is pivoted at one end, the plate being supported initially by one group but as this is depressed during filling of the container a second spring supplements the one spring (Fig. 2, not shown). The container may have several compartments which fill in sequence such that the load on the plate moves non-uniformly. In a further embodiment the container is mounted on a lever, pivoted at one end and spring supported at its other (Fig. 3, not shown). The end of the lever remote from the pivot moves between a pair of contacts which are provided on a spring loaded lever.
