1390662 Sintering ferrous powders ASSOCIATED ENG Ltd 1 May 1973 [5 May 1972] 21111/72 Headings C7A and C7D Machinery components are produced by sintering and hot-forging a ferrous powder containing 12 to 13% by weight of chromium and 0.5 to 2.5% carbon. Alternatively, a chromium-containing sintered component can be carburized before or after the hot-forging. The ferrous material may also contain:- nickel, vanadium, tungsten or molybdenum up to 2% manganese and/or cobalt up to 2% titanium up to 1% Typical components produced are loose cams of internal combustion engines.
