Abstract
1390583 Hydraulic actuators PAUL PLEIGER MASCHINENFABRIK KG 27 July 1973 [28 July 1972 24 Oct 1972] 35940/73 Heading F1D An actuator for rotating a valve stem 6, Fig. 1, has a flow indicator 11 in the return or supply line 8' and a bore 10, which is of smaller diameter than the supply line, through the piston 3. When the piston is moving the flow indicator show this until an end position is reached. In this position the flow through the bore 10 is blocked by a seal 12 on an adjustable end-stop 15. If the piston sticks in an intermediate positon flow through the bore 10 is detected by the indicator 11. Fig. 3 shows an embodiment in which the bore 10 is in the casing not the piston, and a valve 17 co-operates with grooves 18 to close the bore at each end position of the piston. If the piston sticks at the end of its travel, the operator has no means of knowing at which end this has occurred. Fig. 4 shows a by-pass 3 with check-valve 34 which allows fluid to flow through the bore 10 only from that end of the piston which is abutting the end-stop. This enables the operator to determine the position of the piston. In Fig. 5, rotation of the valve shaft 6 causes projections 21 on a cam 20 to open a valve 17 thereby allowing flow pulses through a line 10 to be counted at 22. To produce larger pulses a chamber 23 with a spring- loaded piston 24 is provided. Fig. 6 (not shown), illustrates a constructional example of this embodiment.
