Abstract

1390532 Terminals W ZUMTOBEL 10 Oct 1972 [11 Oct 1971] 46651/72 Heading H2E A contact element, for electrical connection to a wire which may be coated with insulation, comprises a flat body 10<SP>1</SP> (Fig. 10) having a tongue 2<SP>V</SP> stamped out of it and bent up to leave a hole 5<SP>1</SP>. When a wire 12 (Fig. 7) is wound preferably around the body, or around the tongue 2, non-resilient depression of the tongue towards the hole 5<SP>1</SP> clamps the wire 12, breaking the insulating coating if present, and making electrical contact. A modification illustrated in Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown) includes a rectangular hole (5<SP>1V</SP>) and a transversely arched tongue (2<SP>1V</SP>). A shoulder 14 to limit the slipping of the turns of wire along the body is illustrated in Fig. 10. Elements for gripping several wires are illustrated in Figs. 14-17 (not shown). An insulating body 18 for receiving a contact element is illustrated in Figs. 11 and 12 (not shown).
