Abstract

1390489 Cleaning vehicle lamp glasses ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 9 Nov 1973 [10 Nov 1972] 52123/73 Heading A4F [Also in Division F2] A wiper device for a vehicle lamp lens or other screen comprises a wiper blade 16 including a blade body 17, preferably of silicone rubber, having extending longitudinally therein a strip 19, e.g. of steel, resiliently flexible in the wiping plane, and having an extension 21 forming a wiper arm which is secured to a wiper spindle 15. The extension 21 is twisted through 90 degrees relatively to the part 20 of the strip 19 within the blade body 17 and is thus resiliently flexible in a plane at right-angles to the wiping plane and biases the wiper blade towards the surface to be cleaned. An internal projection 30 in the body 17 engages a recess 29 in the strip 19 to retain the body on the strip. Additionally an edge of the strip 19 has teeth engaging the body 17. In a further embodiment the body 17 is extended to cover the strip portion 21 and socket 47 Fig. 6 (not shown), for attachment to the wiper spindle is provided at the free end of the portion 21.
