Abstract

1390025 Mounting hubs on shafts WELLMAN BIBBY CO Ltd 6 April 1972 [7 April 1971] 8987/71 Addition to 1291565 Heading F2U A split tapered bush 1, 14 for mounting a hub (e.g. of a pulley or sprocket or a flexible coupling 16 or a flywheel 17) on a shaft 15, the hub having threaded arcuate recesses to receive screws 4 (e.g. Allen grub screws or necked hexagon head screws), has in its tapered face registering recesses to receive the screws 4, each registering recess having an abutment 22 whereby the screws can urge the bush into the hcb, and at least one registering recess having an opposed shoulder 8 with reliefs 9, 23 to allow aucess to the screw at one end. The bush may have two slits entering from opposite ends, and may be moulded or sintered, the relief 9 being as in Fig. 5 to allow the mould to part along line 12A. The bush 19, Fig. 11, accommodates a pair of unevenly spaced screws 4.
