Abstract

1389980 Crash helmets E H ZINER and R W SOUDER JNR 16 April 1973 [30 Jan 1973] 18271/73 Heading A3V [Also in Divisions F4 and G4] Headgear for the driver of a motor vehicle, for example a motor cyclist's crash helmet 10, is provided with vehicle turn indicators 20 and stop indicator 18. The lights 18, 20 may be operated through cable 22 by controls on the vehicle. Alternatively, control circuits and a battery may be mounted in the headgear, together with switches operated by movement of the driver's head. The lights may be mounted in a single continuous channel, Figure 2 (not shown), fitted to the crash helmet, the channel having a light reflective surface with clear amber and red portions for the lights. The lenses for the lights may be made of transparent plastics material of the reflective type.
