Abstract

1389031 N-trihalogenoalkylthio compounds SPOLANA NARODNI PODNIK 24 March 1972 [6 April 1971] 13914/72 Heading C2C In a method for producing an N-trihalogenoalkylthio compound by reacting a trihalogenoalkyl sulphenyl chloride with an alkali metal salt of the corresponding nitrogen compound (i.e. a compound having a nitrogen atom to which is attached a labile group, which group during reaction with trihalogenoalkyl sulphenyl chloride is replaced by the group trihalogenoalkylthio), the reaction liquid is passed through a liquid-disintegrating mill in the course of the reaction so as to disintegrate microcrystalline agglomerates formed therein. Preferably, the reaction liquid is formed in a mixing zone, passed through the mill and recycled from the mill through a cooling zone and back to the mixing zone so that there is circulatory flow and cooling of the reaction liquid in the course of the reaction. Specification 1,389,032 describes a suitable apparatus for carrying out the above process.
