Abstract

1326130 Iodine pentafluoride KALICHEMIE AG 23 June 1971 [17 July 1970] 29450/71 Heading C1A Iodine pentafluoride is prepared by reacting elemental fluorine with iodine at 10‹ to 50‹ C. the latter being in the form of a stirrable mixture or free flowing slurry with iodine pentafluoride. The reaction may be carried out batch-wise, continuously or by a modified batch process in which a part of the iodine is first introduced into the iodine pentafluoride and then the remainder is added continuously during the reaction.
