Abstract

1388622 Making chipboard HUTT GmbH 14 March 1972 [15 March 1971 22 Oct 1971] 11885/72 Heading B5A In the manufacture of chipboard, powdery or fibrous waste wood particles mixed with or containing a bonding agent are compressed in a moulding apparatus to form chip-like briquettes, having a maximum dimension of about 18 mm., which are used in substitution for a proportion of the wood chips in the pressing of the board. The particles and adhesive are fed to a turbomixer 1 and then to a feed screw 2, with a suction jacket 5 to extract air and compact the mixture. The screw 2 discharges into a briquetting machine 8 having a feed screw 9 and heated rollers 12, 13. The formed briquettes are mixed with board chips and treated with adhesive before being distributed in layers which are pressed into chipboards in conventional manner.
