Abstract

1344049 Making chipboard BISON-WERKE BAHRE & GRETEN GmbH & CO KG 25 Oct 1972 [25 Oct 1971] 49257/72 Heading B5A Apparatus, for making chipboard, of the type comprising a carrier, e.g. an endless belt 1, movable through a heating press 8; a strewing device 9 which moves back and forth over the carrier, whilst it is stationary, to form a layer of particles and binder; and means, such as a brush or knife (16, Fig. 2, not shown) to divide the particulate layer into sections ready for pressing, is provided with a preliminary press 7 upstream of the heating press to partially compress the board so that the heating press stage can be speeded up. Preferably the pre-pressing is effected at a temperature of about 100‹ C. and the final pressing at 180-220‹ C., and the pre-pressed board is sprayed with water by a jet 19 between the two presses.
