Abstract
1388055 Moulding tyres CHODOS NARODNI PODNIK 9 June 1972 27188/72 Heading B5A A tyre press includes a lower chamber 1 and an upper chamber 3 which is movable axially into engagement with the lower chamber to bring mould parts 7 and 10 together, and an inflatable inner tube 25 with its ends connected, respectively, to an axially movable sleeve 22 and an axially movable member 31. The latter is adjustably mounted on a connecting rod 33 of a piston 38 in a cylinder 34 whereas the former slides about a rigid member 27. With the sleeve extended and the piston retracted a tyre blank is placed on the rim 24 of the sleeve, Fig. 1; the piston is then raised to bring the inner tube into the tyre whereupon the sleeve is lowered and the tube inflated, Fig. 4. The upper chamber and mould part are lowered causing a ring 9 to force the member 31 downwardly and the chambers are interengaged. Heating fluid is fed into the inner tube to vulcanize the tyre, after which the upper chamber is removed, the sleeve raised whilst the piston 38 is held causing the detachment of the inner tube from the tyre.
