Abstract

1388006 Test tube rack I C N TRACERLAB NV 2 Nov 1972 [14 Dec 1971] 50477/72 Heading B1X [Also in Division Gl] A casing for holding sample tubes 10 comprises a plurality of compartments 6 for sample tubes and defined by wall portions, at least some of the wall portions of the compartment which wall portions form an outer wall of the casing, being provided with openings 13, 14, 15 therein, and coding members 16 removably insertable into at least some of the compartments and provided with openings wherein at least one opening in a coding member is registerable with an opening in the said wall portion of the respective compartment into which it is to be inserted. As shown, the coding member is a square can having on its respective sides a hole corresponding to the upper casing hole 14, a hole corresponding to the lower casing hole 13, holes corresponding to both casing holes, and no holes at all, so that any one of four indications may be given to a scanning device.
