Abstract

1387824 Curtains J W BANFORD 31 May 1972 [19 June 1971] 28899/71 Heading A4S A curtain, particularly a shower curtain, comprises a sheet of cotton, nylon thread, sheet plastics material or glass fibre, which is hemmed at 11 by folding the upper edge over on itself twice and securing at 9 by stitching or heat welding, a series of reinforced apertures 12 being formed through the hem for engagement by a clip fastener 14 which is slidable along a rail 15. The apertures may be formed as an elongate slit by a hot blade in each layer of the hem, the layers being stitched or welded together round the aperture. Stitched apertures may be reinforced by extra stitching at the top of the aperture. In a modification a series of vertically spaced pairs of round holes are engaged by a ring clip, passing through each pair.
