Abstract

1387695 Mixing apparatus A L PRITCHARD 10 July 1973 [11 April 1972] 16578/72 Heading B1C A lid 1 for a container e.g. for paint has a bearing member 3 in which are journalled a shaft 8 carrying a stirrer 11, and a shaft 16 carrying an eccentric 17 which can be rotated by a lever 18 to bear on the edge of the container and release the lid. In the horizontal position of the lever 18 a transverse bore (not depicted) in the shaft 16 registers with a hole 22 in the member 3 and with one in the lid to allow air to enter when the contents are poured from the closable spout 20. The stirrer may be rotated by a hand crank 9 or by engagement of the shaft 8 with e.g. the chuck of an electric drill.
