Abstract

1387116 Packaging foodstuffs UNILEVER Ltd 19 April 1972 [20 Jan 1971] 2767/71 Heading B8C A pouch containing frozen vegetables, e.g. frozen peas, is formed of a material which is permeable in water, has a wet strength sufficient to withstand immersion in boiling water for a sufficient time to enable the vegetables to be cooked and is readily tearable to enable the cooked vegetables to be removed from the pouch. The material may be a porous paper based material having a weight between 10 and 25 grammes per square metre and may be surface treated to prevent adjacent bags sticking together during frozen storage. Also, the pouch may incorporate a thermoplastic sealing medium, e.g. polypropylene.
