Abstract
1386913 Hydrofoil craft BOEING CO 7 May 1973 [6 Dec 1972] 21694/73 Heading B7A In a hydrofoil craft 10 having at least one control surface such as foil 16 or foil 26, a primary source of electrical power 132 to a first control system 124 governs the control surface during normal operation of the craft. An auxiliary electrical circuit includes a secondary servo feedback system 136 preset to position the surface to cause the craft to descend from a foil-borne to a hull-borne mode of operation if the primary power source fails. The secondary source of electrical power 137 for the auxiliary circuit is separate from the primary power source. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 (not shown), the control surfaces are flaps carried at the trailing edges of foils 16 and 26.
