Abstract

1386025 Cases for mounting storage batteries VARTA AG 23 Nov 1972 [25 Nov 1971] 54146/72 Heading H1B A case for receiving storage batteries comprises end members 1 and intermediate members 2 each of U-shape and comprising bottom and side walls, the end members additionally having an end wall. Upper and lower longitudinally-extending projections 3 on the members 1, 2 have holes for receiving threaded bolts whereby the members may be clamped together. The size of the case is adjustable to accommodate the required number of batteries by varying the number of the members 2 and, if desired, the members 2 may be omitted and the members 1 clamped directly to each other. Two cases may be connected side-by-side by plates 6, Fig. 4. The opposing surfaces of the members 1, 2 may respectively have projections and recesses (Fig. 8, not shown) to provide a sealed casing. The members 1, 2 may be of foamed polyurethane.
