Abstract

1385900 Dispensers METAL BOX CO Ltd 25 April 1972 [4 May 1971] 12961/71 Heading B8P A dispenser for delivering in succession one or a predetermined number of articles comprises a body member and a cap member which are relatively rotatable from a first relative angular position where an article is segregated from its fellows to a second relative angular position in which the article is dispensed. As shown, the cap member 1 has three article receiving apertures 9 in a skirt portion 2 which is a snap fit in the body member 20 by means of a circumferential groove 23 and ribs 6 and which rests on a shoulder 26 of the body member. The body member 20 has a dispensing aperture 24 opposite which is a part-annular barrier portion 25. Upon relative rotation of the members in a tilted position, articles enter the apertures 9 and are conveyed to the dispensing aperture 24. In a modification, the body member 20 may be open at its base and have a groove for cooperation with a rib of a further tubular member having a closed base. In a further modification, the body member has two apertures (40) in its upper region and the cap member has a dispensing aperture (33) and an annular web barrier (36) which has a maximum axial length adjacent the aperture (33) which diminishes to zero diametrically opposite the aperture. On relative rotation of the cap and body members with the container in a tilted position an article adjacent an aperture (40) is isolated by displacement of its fellows by the web barrier (36) and dispensed through the apertures (40) and (33) when these are in register. The cap and body members may be moulded from a plastics material such as polyethylene or polypropylene or may be of metal.
