Abstract
1385443 Centrifugal separators A A MALHERBE 26 Jan 1973 [27 Jan 1972] 4036/73 Heading B2P [Also in Division Fl] In an I.C. engine (see Division Fl) fuel/air mixture passes via an inlet 25 into a chamber 30. Deformable blades 31 causes whirling of the mixture so that excess fuel droplets are thrown on to a skirt 32 which drains to trough 33 and base 34 from whence it is returned to the carburettor. The blades 31 tend to straighten as the mixture speed increases, thereby decreasing the whirling.
