1385173 Pouring spouts; container closures ANGELO GUALA DI PIERGIACOMO E ROBERTO GUALA & C SAS 13 Sept 1973 [19 Jan 1973] 43091/73 Headings B8D and B8T A pouring device is formed in one piece of resilient plastics and comprises an annular first part 5 having an outwardly-directed flange 8 and rib 6 adapted to be snap-fastened to the rim 2 of a container opening, and a tubular second part 11, which is initially joined to the first part by a frangible bridge 10 and which is telescopically extendible or contractible after rupturing of the bridge, said second part having a transverse top closure wall 12, paving openings 14, a lower pair of projections 13 and 19 for releasably-retaining the second part extended, and an upper projection 18 for seating on a rib 9 in the retracted position. The first part is provided with an annular weakening 8 adapted to rupture if an illicit attempt is made to remove the first part from the container opening. The pouring openings are defined between radial ribs 17 joining the transverse wall and a dependent tubular element 16 to the body of the tubular part, which is provided with drip-preventing lip 15. Handle loops 20 facilitate rupture of the bridge 10 and extension of the second part. In a modification, Figs. 4-9 (not shown), the frangible bridge is formed by removable or partially removable weakening line defined semi-circular loops (24) connected to a pull ring (28). A resilientlydeformable flange 23 forms a stop and reclosure element in the retracted position.
