Abstract

1385145 Aluminium alloy BRUSH WELLMAN Inc 22 June 1973 [13 Oct 1972] 29860/73 Heading C7A Alloy composition which is especially suited for use as the as mould material in foam moulding of plastics material, consists, by weight of:- 8 to 13% silicon 1.5 to 5% copper 5 to 8.5% zinc 0.5 to 1.5% magnesium 0.01 to 0.2% beryllium 0.01 to 0.3% titanium the balance being aluminium and impurities. The alloys are preferably cast at 1100-1400‹F solution treated for 8 to 24 hours at 900-1000‹F, water- or oil-quenched and aged for 1 to 24 hours at 300-600‹F.-
