Abstract

1383949 Hockey stick A SAYTER 7 Aug 1972 36778/72 Heading A6D A hockey stick includes a blade 12, a shaft 11 and a butt-end piece 13, the blade having a substantially circular strking portion 19 and a neck 18 defined by upper and lower rims 22 and 20 and 21 respectively. All three portions are preferably of hollow construction and made of a plastics material e.g. polyethylene the shaft 11 being rectangular in crosssection. The blade and butt-end piece are attached to the shaft by sliding there-over and are secured by friction, adhesive or staples. The side portions of the hollow blade are formed concave so that their inner surfaces are in contact (Fig. 3, not shown) to form a more solid hitting surface and so as reduce the tendency of a ball to roll or bounce over the blade. The blades may be produced in different colours.
