1383507 Lidding containers; applying closures to containers BRISTOL PACKAGING MACHINES Ltd 22 Nov 1972 [1 Sept 1971] 54051/72 Divided out of 1383506 Headings B8C and B8T A machine for mounting lids 120 on tubs 16 filled for example by margarine as described in Specification 1,383,506 comprises an endless conveyer 110 mounted for movement about a pair of horizontally spaced sprockets and carrying equispaced lid holders 111 which receive the lid on the upper run of the conveyer and drop the lids on to the tubs at the start of the lower run. During the lower run the holders converge towards the tubs to snap the lids on to the tubs. An encoder 119 codes the lids.
