Abstract
1383451 Dyeing polyolefins with vat dyes HOECHST AG 5 March 1973 [7 March 1972] 10535/73 Heading D1B Unmodified polyolefin fibres are dyed or printed in aqueous media with vat dyes, leuco esters of vat dyes or sulphur dyes under high temperature conditions i.e. at temperatures of at least 100C in the presence of a dispersing agent based on polyglycol-ethers or -esters which may be alkyl- or alkylaryl-polyglycol ethers or oxethylated fatty acid polyglycol esters. Padding and printing processes are followed by steaming at 100 to 135C for 10 to 40 mins a non-ionic protective colloid also being added to the pad liquors or print paste. An anionic protective colloid is used in exhaustion dyeing processes at 120 to 135C for 40 to 70 mins oxidation being subsequently effected. Unvatted dyes may also be applied when reoxidation is not required.
