Abstract
1383368 Ore sintering FOSECO INTERNATIONAL Ltd 2 Mareh 1973 [16 March 1972] 12431/72 Heading C1A Describes a process for incorporating into ore or ore concentrate 0À001 to 0À099% by weight of a polysaccharide material selected from alginates, pregelatinized starches and galactomannan thickeners. Thus, for example, in preparing iron, zinc or lead ores for sintering, a green sinter mix may be made by mixing together raw ore or ore concentrate, returned sintered ore, water and the polysaccharide. Other materials such as bentonite binders may be included with advantage. When ore or ore concentrates are pelletized prior to sintering the flowability of the green ore during transfer to the pelletizing apparatus may be improved by the process according to the invention.
