1383157 Bearings SKF COMPAGNIE D'APPLICATIONS MECANIQUES 23 March 1973 14228/73 Heading F2A A bearing assembly comprises an inner bearing ring 2 force-fitted on a shaft 1 and having an external, frusto-conical bearing surface which engages the internal surface of a corresponding outer bearing ring 4. The outer ring is formed by rolling a metal annulus into a frustum of a cone, and has on its bearing surface a layer of bearing material. The outer ring being located in a housing 5. The housing is preferably of glass fibre reinforced plastics material.
