Abstract
138,302. Pember, H., and Pember, A. H. Oct. 24, 1919. Atmospheric gas burners.-The air regulator of an atmospheric burner for gas stoves, gas cookers, gas fires, &c. comprises one or more adjustable sheet-metal tongues or baffles 3 carried by a holder 1 adapted to be fitted within the mixing- tube of the burner, each tongue or baffle 3 being adapted to be bent by hand to any desired angle prior to the holder being inserted in the mixing- tube. In one form, the tongue or baffle 3, Fig. 1, is integral with the holder 1, which consists of a sheet-metal blank bent into a more or less cylindrical form and having an integral finger-piece 4 extending outside the mixing-tube 2. In a modification, a cylindrical holder 1 is provided with integral spring arms for engaging against the inner side of the mixing-tube. In a second modification, a substantially U-shaped spring strip 5, Fig. 8, is.secured to the underside of the regulator, such as by passing it through slits in the underside of the regulator, and its free end engages the inside or outside of the mixing-tube.
