Abstract
1382086 Axial flow fans SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN AB 23 March 1972 [30 March 1971] 13682/72 Heading F1C An arrangement for pivotally adjusting the blades 2 of an axial flow impeller 1 comprises a fluid tight box rotating with the impeller and inflatable through a fluid connection 6, 7 to axially displace arms 12 and rotate the blades about radial axes, the blades 2 being mounted on bearing housings in which axial bearings 15 are disposed to secure the blades to axles 2a which are secured in the impeller hub 3a at their opposite ends 2b. The arms 12 are secured to the circumference of covers 13a. Spring 8 effects return when the pressure in box 5 is reduced and extensible pin 9 controls motion during displacement. Impellers of different sizes may be constructed simply by changing the size of the blade axles 2a and casings 11.
