1381723 Baths B P CHEMICALS INTERNATIONAL Ltd 18 April 1972 [29 April 1971] 12070/71 Heading A4N A domestic bath has a water-impermeable flexible inner surface 1 backed by a resilient foamed plastics material 2 and having an outlet 3 in its base. The inner surface may take the form of a covering layer of flexible plastics material or waterproof fabric, for example platicized P.V.C. polyethylene, nylon, and waterproof or waterproofed synthetic or natural-fibre fabrics alternatively, the inner surface may be the surface of the resilient foamed plastics itself, the latter having either a closed-cell structure or a water-impermeable skin. Closed-cell foamed polyurethane is the preferred material. The outlet 3 includes a flexible outlet pipe 10 sealed to the inner surface 1 by a flange 11. The rim of the bath is thickened and the walls are thickened towards the base to increase its mechanical strength.
